NAB seizes SP capsules from Imphal Airport

Imphal, Oct 11:
The Narcotic and Affairs of Border Police, Imphal seized around sixty thousand Spasmo Proxyvon (SP) capsules from Imphal Airport which were illegally being brought from Delhi in an Air India flight yesterday.
According to police reports, acting on specific information, Inspector RK Bikramjit, OC of Narcotic and Affairs of Border Police, Imphal under the supervision of Md Isaac Shah, SP of NAB along with a team rushed to Tulihal Airport, Imphal yesterday at around 11:50 am.
While the team was on their duty, they saw a Muslim youth moving around suspiciously. The youth had boarded an Air India flight from Delhi.
The police team immediately surrounded him and checked his luggage where around 60,000 pieces of SP capsules were found.
The youth who has been identified as MK HR Raj (21), s/o MK Islouddin of Lilong Haoreibi Sambrumakhong Mamei Leikai, Thoubal has been detained by the NAB along with the seized drugs.
On further interrogation, the arrestee disclosed that the seized capsules were brought from different pharmacies in Delhi and were destined to spread in different markets of Manipur ahead of the forthcoming festivals like Diwali, Durga Pooja, Ningol Chakkouba to earn huge profit.
The estimated cost of the seizure is said to be around Rs 3.5 lakhs.
Expressing concern over such kind of drug trafficking, Inspector RK Bikramjit Singh, Officer-in-Charge of NAB P.S has appealed to the general public not to indulge in such illegal drug trafficking and further requested to co-operate with the police and to inform of any such instance of selling/buying so as to curb the menace of drug abuse in the state.
